(KSL News) -- Some of the money for a new major-league soccer stadium could come from the Jordan School District.
The district is being asked to give up millions of dollars so ReAL Salt Lake has a home. The 15 million dollars in redevelopment funds Sandy is expected to give ReAL comes from property tax dollars. Some of that money typically goes to schools.
The city is asking Jordan to give a chunk of the money to the stadium project, a number that could be around nine million.
District, city and team officials plan to meet in October.
