2 critically injured in overnight crash near Utah Capitol

SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were rushed to the hospital after a single-car crash near Utah's Capitol early Wednesday, according to police in Salt Lake.

Sgt. George Uyema with the Salt Lake City Police Department told KSL the crash was reported around 2 a.m. at the intersection of 500 North and Columbus Street.

When first responders arrived at the scene, two occupants were found in critical condition and had to be removed from the car, Uyema said.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation as of later Wednesday morning.
