(KSL News) Salt Lake's City and County government buildings were busy with volunteers today.

They were assembling hundreds of hygiene kits that will be sent to those people affected by Hurricane Ike.

One-gallon sized bags were packed with toothbrushes, soap, combs and other items. Today's event was organized by the Utah Vista Volunteer Empowerment Project.
