BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Police Department is warning residents about a possible scam after the department received an email from someone claiming to be from Netflix.
The department posted images of the email on their Facebook and Twitter accounts to alert residents and pointed out how to spot a scam.
In their social media posts Bountiful police suggested that people should trace email back to the sender and sender's email address.
One big warning sign, they said, is frequent misspellings.
“Knowledge is the key to stopping these,” the Facebook post said. “When the scam stops working they will stop trying.”
