SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released its annual Easter campaign called “Prince of Peace” early Friday.
The campaign focuses on Jesus Christ as the “prince of peace” and invites people to focus on eight principles to honor Christ and find peace in life, including faith, God’s word, compassion, gratitude, prayer, forgiveness, repentance and hope.
The LDS Church released a video to headline the campaign Friday and will release one principle a day in the week leading up to Easter (from April 9 until April 16.) Each daily theme includes a video, a scripture and several invitations to incorporate the principle in everyday life.
The videos highlight the way people have found peace through Jesus Christ, even in the middle of hard times like dealing with terminal illness, loss of loved ones, poverty and sin.
The principles and videos are all currently available on Mormon.org, and the LDS Church will begin releasing memes focused on aspects of Christ’s teachings beginning April 1 and leading up to the week before Easter.
The campaign also includes a timeline that allows viewers to learn more about Jesus Christ’s last week before his resurrection and encourages all to share the campaign with friends through social media. Those who want to participate can even set a Facebook profile filter or change their cover photo for the campaign.
Content will be released on Mormon.org social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
