NEW YORK (AP) — Olympic bronze medalist Caleb Paine of San Diego and 16-year-old Daniela Moroz of Lafayette, California, have won the US Sailing Rolex Yachtsman and Yachtswoman of the Year awards.

The awards were presented Thursday at the New York Yacht Club.

Paine, 26, was the only American medalist at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. He won the medal race in the Finn class to clinch the bronze.

Moroz became the youngest male or female to win the award. She burst onto the kitesurfing scene as a 15-year-old last year and won the IKA Formula Kite World Championship in September in Weifang-Binhai, China. She also won the women's division of the inaugural Hydrofoil Pro Tour, which included victories at the final two stops in Mauritius and Rockingham, Western Australia.
