OREM — Police have identified the woman killed Monday morning in an accident on the Orem Center Street on-ramp.

It was snowing heavily when Mapleton resident Leilani White, 37, may have lost control, spun out and become stuck in the center lane on the Orem Center Street on-ramp, investigators say.

A box van drove over onto the road and hit the back of White's car, according to police. The driver was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting White when her car became visible.

Police responded at the time of the accident, around 9:40 a.m., and White was taken to Timpanogos Medical Center where she later died, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.

There was also a 17-car pileup near the Provo Center Street exit around the same time and all lanes of I-15 northbound were closed until around noon Monday.

More information will be released as it is received.
