(KSL News) A preliminary autopsy report shows former Utah State University president, Kermit Hall, died of a heart attack.
Authorities say Hall suffered cardiac arrest, lost consciousness and drowned off the shore of South Carolina on Sunday.
Hall and his wife, Phyllis, were swimming when Hall began waving his arms and yelling for help.
Rescuers pulled Hall from the water. He died 40 minutes later at a local hospital.
