HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Darian Anderson scored 18 points and Mike Holloway 16 as Fairleigh Dickinson rallied from an early deficit to defeat St. Francis (Pa.) 77-65 Thursday night in the Northeast Conference opener.

Fairleigh Dickinson found itself trailing the Red Flash 15-7 early, but tied at 15 on an Anderson steal and layup and kept going — holding St. Francis scoreless for more than seven minutes of a 17-0 run and led 42-26 by halftime.

Anderson, a junior, has started all 76 games since arriving at Fairleigh Dickinson and was honored prior to tipoff for reaching 1,000 career points.

Ghassan Nehme returned for the Knights (3-9, 1-0) after missing 10 games after suffering a concussion.

St. Francis (3-9, 0-1) was led by 15 points from Keith Braxton and 14 from Jamaal King.

Fairleigh Dickinson shot 55 percent from the field, 34 of 62, with 20 assists, — five from Stephan Jiggetts.
