Fire investigators in Pleasant Grove are trying to find out who, or what started a blaze that destroyed two garbage trucks. The fire happened near 200 West and 700 South between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
There were four trucks parked in a row, and there wasn't much left of the two middle trucks once the fire was put out.
Pleasant Grove Deputy Fire Chief Dave Thomas said, "The heat was fairly intense. As a matter of fact, as things were even slowing down and most of the fire was put out we could still hear water boiling inside the trucks."

He said they're still trying to find out how the fires started. "Whether it was inside or just outside the vehicle, we haven't determined that yet because of the damage," Thomas said.
He said the garbage trucks were empty when the fire started. He said, "Until we get a better idea what caused this, yeah, this is a suspicious fire."
Thomas estimates that two of the four trucks are a complete lost. Damage is estimated at $500,000. The waste company declined to comment at this time.
