VATICAN CITY (AP) — The Archbishop of St. Andrews and Edinburgh has introduced a new app to help Catholics around the world find the nearest Catholic church with just a few taps on their smartphones.
Archbishop Leo Cushley says the faithful now will be able to find a place to confess or attend Mass anywhere in the world using "The Catholic App."
The archbishop was joined at the Vatican by Lisamaria Purdie, a primary school teacher from Scotland, who said that the app would bring "the church into line with current interests for our young people."
The GPS-guided app was developed in cooperation with a Scottish technology company.
