(KSL News) Experts and community leaders are joining forces to promote the power of the sun.

Today they offered a preview of a statewide event called the Utah Solar Tour by showing off solar panels at the Clark Planetarium.

Solar energy is just one way experts say Utahns can help promote energy independence.

Orrin Farnsworth, with the Utah Solar Energy Association, said, "The solar industry, as part of the renewable energy industry, is growing tremendously in this area. And Utah really has the best area in the country for all energy aspects."
