SALT LAKE CITY — Three more highlights from the world of sports in today's From Left Field!
1. Golf course vandalized
The Rochford Hundred Golf Club, just outside of London, England, is supposed to host a tournament this weekend. That's been made difficult after shovel-wielding vandals went after the course.
It's easy to forget how fragile golf courses really are: they're just super thin, well manicured grass that's relatively easy to mess up.
2. With two outs in the ninth, catch prevents walk-off homer
The Braves completed a sweep of the Mets last night, but it wasn't necessarily easy. Down 3-0 early in the game, the Braves fought back to take a 4-3 lead. But with a runner on and Yoenis Cespedes as the plate, things nearly went very badly for the Braves.
That's when Ender Inciarte made the game-saving catch, going over the wall to prevent the home run and winning the game for the Braves. It's a rough loss for the Mets, who now find themselves tied in the wild-card race.
3. Bautista's backwards trot
In other playoff races, the Blue Jays were hanging on to a one game lead in the AL Wild Card race, when Bautista hit this solo shot in the ninth inning to tie the game.
One more replay of that trot:
