Game Night Live: Bees win 6th-straight Golden Spike; Bingham rolls by Lone Peak

GARLAND — For 96 straight years, Box Elder and Bear River have battled for the Golden Spike, the state's longest consecutive rivalry.

For six straight years, the Bees have come out on top.

Travis Dickson ran for two touchdowns, including the game-winner, to help Box Elder pull away from its rival 20-6 in the KSL game of the week Friday night.

The Bears jumped out to an early lead with a field goal in the second quarter. But Sebastian Rodriguez hit Traycer Wilson with a 22-yard touchdown strike to give the Bees a 6-3 halftime advantage.

Dickson then went to work, converting a 3-yard run into seven points in the third quarter and adding an insurance touchdown in the fourth to help the Bees pull away.

Bingham 42, Lone Peak 21 — At Lone Peak, Jayvontay Smith ran for 147 yards and two of top-ranked Bingham’s three second-quarter touchdowns to help the Miners roll past the Knights.

Brayden Cosper pulled down four catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns for Bingham, which improved to 3-0 on the season with its third-straight rout.

Dakota Hansen accounted for two touchdowns for Lone Peak, including a 7-yard TD strike in the third quarter to pull the Knights within 28-15 before Bingham pulled away.

Springville 28, Skyridge21 — At Skyridge, the Red Devils erupted for 21 points in the third quarter to hand the first-year Falcons their first loss in school history.

Jansen Thorpe threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Springville (3-0), which also got a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown from Cole Bowers.

Cody Frampton threw three TD tosses for Skyridge (2-1), including two to Wyatt Parkinson.

Highland 42, Sky View 35 — At Highland, James Pembroke ran for five touchdowns as the Rams held off the Bobcats in a shootout.

Pembroke piled up TD runs of 29, 9 and three separate 1-yard runs for Highland, which also got a 71-yard run from Bronson Olevao and a 40-yard score by Soseti Tupola.

Jackson Siddoway threw four touchdown passes for Sky View, which attempted to rally after trailing 21-7 at halftime.

Davis 17, Olympus 10 — At Davis, Riley Smith’s 12-yard TD run in the fourth quarter proved the difference as the Darts edged the Titans.

Hayden Grange’s 47-yard TD strike to Jace Hinton gave Davis a 10-3 halftime lead, but Olympus tied the score on Sawyer Pierce’s 39-yard pass to Christian Condon going into the final period.

Cedar 28, Canyon View 8 — At Cedar, Drake Fakahua threw three touchdown passes, and Travis Tait scored twice to lead the Redmen by the rival Falcons.

Stockton Rigby threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Abe Huxford for Canyon View’s lone score.

Jordan 42, Pleasant Grove 21 — At Pleasant Grove, Crew Wakley accounted for six touchdowns to give the Beetdiggers a big win over the Vikings.

Wakley threw for three touchdowns and rushed for three more, as Jordan took a 28-21 lead at halftime and outscored Pleasant Grove 14-0 the rest of the way.

Jake Jensen threw two touchdown passes for the Vikings.
