A man in jail for allegedly illegally towing vehicles and selling them is in more trouble. He is now accused of trying to sell another stolen vehicle to bail himself out of jail.
Orem police say George Peahl illegally towed nearly a dozen cars from Orem and then sold them.
And now Provo police Capt. Cliff Argyle says Peahl tried to get family members to buy a truck from him so he could make bail.
Argyle said, "He tried to convince the brother, ‘Hey, I'm giving you a good deal on the truck and you can help me get out of jail at the same time.'"
Peahl's brother went and looked at the truck for sale, wrote down the vehicle identification number and contacted police.
Turns out the truck had been stolen in July. So Peahl will remain in jail with a now higher bail.
