Vancouver will welcome the world even before London will. The city in British Columbia, Canada will host the 2010 Winter Games.

From Beijing to BC the torch is about to be passed. Vancouver, BC, is getting ready to welcome the world in 2010. The Canadians are mounted and ready to go.

Bette Sterling, the director of operations at the BC Canada Pavilion says, "We're excited. We've learned a lot from the games here, and we'll take a lot of that information back home to make sure we have a successful games too."

The British Columbia Canada pavilion right off Tiananmen Square gives thousands of visitors an interactive walking exhibit of BC's and Canada's business, tourism, culture and industry as they prepare for their Olympic moment.

"What is different when you're from some place that's about to host something as big and profound as the Olympics? Well, we're excited about the fact that we're next. But we're also excited about getting ready for it. Our venues are ready, we're into the volunteer programs and various other elements of preparing for the games, and now the hard work really begins," Sterling said.

The Alpine venues at Whistler are 90 minutes down to the host city Vancouver. The 2010 look is taking shape.

"It's kind of around the corner. It is around the corner, and when we finish here in Beijing, we'll be full out to ensure that we do things as well as they've been done in China," Sterling said.

One of the best features of Vancouver 2010 is that it will be the first Olympics broadcast to us in real time since the Salt Lake City games. It's just one time zone away from Salt Lake, not the 14 hours like we're seeing in Beijing.
