FILLMORE, Utah (AP) -- A 47-year-old California woman died today after her motorcycle had a blowout in Utah's Millard County.

Authorities say Gwen Chavez was a passenger on the motorcycle. After a rear-tire blowout on Interstate 15, the driver slowed down to about 40 miles per hour but lost control.

Chavez was wearing a helmet but died of severe injuries when the bike rolled over her. The driver, Luis Chavez, was not wearing a helmet. The Fillmore Hospital is keeping him overnight.
