OGDEN — A 29-year-old Ogden man is dead following a three-car accident in Ogden Thursday afternoon, police said.

Ogden police responded to a report of an accident on Harrison Boulevard between 35th and 36th Street. The crash, officials said, closed the boulevard between those two streets for several hours during the investigation.

Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon said a Ford Mustang was going south on Harrison Boulevard when the driver lost control and crashed into a 2008 Toyota Prius going north. The Prius spun around and crashed into a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

The driver of the Prius was killed in the accident. The 20-year-old driver of the Mustang sustained minor injuries and the driver of the pickup was uninjured, police said.

Eynon said investigators estimate the driver of the Mustang was traveling at speeds of 60 to 80 miles per hour. Investigators are also looking into the possibility of impairment that may have led to the crash.
