CAIRO (AP) — Egyptian aviation officials say an EgyptAir flight that disappeared with 66 people on board has crashed. The airline says Flight 804 was lost from radar 2:45 a.m. local time Thursday, as it flew from Paris to Cairo. EgyptAir says the plane vanished 10 miles after entering Egyptian airspace.

HAGATNA, Guam (AP) — The U.S. Air Force says all seven crew members made it out safely with no injuries after a B-52 crashed on the U.S. territory of Guam shortly after takeoff Thursday morning. Pacific Air Forces says the plane aborted on takeoff and caught fire. The incident is under investigation.

DETROIT (AP) — An annual study says that U.S. motorcycle deaths spiked 10 percent last year, topping 5,000 for the first time since 2008. The study by the Governors Highway Safety Association attributes the increase mainly to more travel nationwide and better weather leading to a longer riding season in many states.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Thanks to a combination of global warming and an El Nino, Planet Earth has shattered monthly heat records for an unprecedented 12th straight month. Federal scientists say that in April, Earth's average temperature was 58.7 degrees. That's 2 degrees warmer than the 20th century average and well past the old record set in 2010. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the Southern Hemisphere led the way, with Africa, South America and Asia all having their warmest Aprils on record.

HONG KONG (AP) — Most Asian stock markets are down Thursday after the U.S. Federal Reserve surprised investors by signaling that an interest rate hike is in the cards if economic conditions keep improving. Japan's Nikkei has dipped less than 0.1 percent. South Korea's Kospi lost 0.5 percent and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.3 percent. China's Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.5 percent.
