CALI — There are plenty of studies that suggest video games prepare you for real-life scenarios.
They may heighten your IQ if you play between one and five hours daily, a European study suggested. Another said that they could boost your hand-eye coordination. If the latter is true, it makes sense to assume this drone pilot whose insane video has nearly half a million views, was a master gamer before trying his hand at flying quads.
Rise & Shine from Robert McIntosh on Vimeo.
The video shot by Robert McIntosh and put on Vimeo truly defies the laws of physics as he dips, dives and maneuvers his way through the obstacles at Venice Beach like a true champion in what looks like a real-life video game.
McIntosh used a GoPro Hero 4, stabilized with ReelSteady to make the shot super smooth and a “250-sized mini quad for aerial cinematography,” according to the clip's description. You can see the kind of setup he had by watching another one of his videos.
But seriously. Watch the video and tell me how he makes it under benches, through signage and between railings without crashing. The sunrise on the beach is beautiful, but his piloting is the real hero of this video.
