SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County Republican delegates supporting Donald Trump are gathering in Sparks to plan for the state GOP convention in Reno later this month.
Trump won Nevada's caucuses in February. His backers plan to meet at the Sparks Nugget at 6:45 p.m. Monday to go over the ground rules and discuss the agenda for the May 14 state convention.
The Washoe County GOP has been plagued by recent infighting. Last week, police were called and at least two people sought medical attention after a county Central Committee meeting got out of hand.
Nevada will send 30 delegates to the national convention in Cleveland in July. Based on Nevada's caucus results, Trump will get 14 delegates, Marco Rubio seven, Ted Cruz six and John Kasich one. Ben Carson also won two delegates, but he released them over the weekend so they can vote for whomever they choose.
