Richard Bryan has become only the second person in the history of the University of Nevada, Reno to have a statue dedicated in his honor at the school founded in 1874. The 82-year-old Democrat was elected UNR student body president in 1958 and went on to 60 years of public service in Nevada.

(AP) — A Reno-area physician is among nine people, including current and former employees of a northern Nevada auto dealership, accused of running a deadly illegal prescription drug "pill mill," federal officials said Friday. Dr. Robert Rand was arrested Friday in San Francisco, and Richard Winston "Richie" West II was among eight defendants arrested Thursday in Reno and accused of distributing prescription opioid medications including oxycodone.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — At least one former Las Vegas water district official is no longer on the payroll, and federal authorities are investigating allegations that a purchasing agent made $4 million worth of unauthorized purchases that were shipped to a New Jersey address. Las Vegas Valley Water District General Manager John Entsminger sent a message to employees Thursday saying the FBI was called in after an internal investigation began in December.
