Gene Kennedy Reporting More heartbreaking news this morning for the Carbon County family already grieving the loss of their one-year old. We have now learned the five-year old son, Levi, has also passed away due to injuries suffered when a flash flood slammed into the family's vehicle.
Rescuers called off the search for the one-year old boy swept away by the flash flood in Price. The threat of another flash flood in the area above Helper caused officials to stop the search without finding a body.
The baby boy presumed dead is Jaydan Seal. Canines picked up his scent at a spot in the Price river, so divers were focusing on that area this morning.
His brother, Levi, had been in critical condition at Primary Children's Hospital. A family friend told Eyewitness News this morning that he has passed away.
Searchers think Jaydan drowned in Garley's Canyon when a flash flood slammed into his family's SUV as they were out for a Sunday drive.
Family members describe Jaydan as a "sweet little guy."
Floyd Seal, Great-grandfather: "He couldn't go nowhere without his dad. His dad's in shock. He can't even talk."
Seth Critchlow, Cousin: "I love the kids to death..."
Heavy rain the night before created a massive wash. A 20- foot wall of water crashed into the Seal family's Bronco, pushing the truck downstream nearly a mile.
Josh and Courtney Seal unbuckled their children's seat belts to get them to safety. In the water, mud and debris they could only find two of their children-- three-year-old Brookland and five-year-old Levi.
The community of Price is truly dealing with a tragedy.
