PARADISE, Utah (AP) -- A Cache County homeowner's group says it opposes a proposal for a natural gas pipeline that will cut across parts of northeastern Utah.
The El Paso Corp. wants to build the 680-mile Ruby pipeline from Wyoming through Utah, Nevada and Oregon. Spokesman Richard Wheatly says the project is still in development and will require approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee.
If the project gets regulatory approval, landowners must give El Paso permission to build the pipeline across private land. About 200 properties in the Paradise area would be affected.
Ray Gibbons of the Scare Canyon Ranch homeowner's group says the pipeline will be an eyesore that ruins the local landscape. He says residents also fear the pipeline will open the way for other utility easements.
