SALT LAKE CITY — A Milwaukee man was found with a large shipment of marijuana after being pulled over for traffic violations in November, according to charges filed Monday.

Dennis Molina, 23, is charged in 3rd District Court with possession of 100 or more pounds of marijuana, a second-degree felony.

Molina was driving east on I-80 in western Salt Lake County on Nov. 9 when he was pulled over by a Utah Highway Patrol trooper, charges state. He was stopped on suspicion of following another vehicle too closely and for an alleged tail light violation.

The trooper detected an odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle, finding 117 packages of marijuana, all of them weighing about 1 pound, according to the charges.

Molina is not currently in custody in Utah, according to jail records. A search of court records shows he has no prior criminal history in Utah.
