PROVO — A new hidden camera show that “highlights the altruistic nature of human beings,” will premiere Monday on BYUtv, according to BYUtv.

In the reality show, “Random Acts,” the team sneakily participates in acts of service such as washing strangers’ vehicles while they are shopping, giving a ride in a Ferrari to cancer patients headed to treatments, making breakfast for college students sleeping in public and purchasing groceries for parents, according to BYUtv.

The show “features real people who are the recipients of random acts of kindness,” and the hosts also find unknowing citizens and give them an opportunity to do an act of service, BYUtv reported.

Hosting “Random Acts” is YouTuber Will Rubio, actresses Emilie Starr and Lisa Valentine Clark and comedian Aaron Woodall. The show will see collaborations from names such as Kayli Butler and Carlie Butler Wood,Studio C and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra.

The show will be 10 episodes long and will premiere at 8:30 p.m. Monday with a rerun at 11:30 p.m.

“When we began producing original content for BYUtv, we set out to create entertaining programming that showed ‘the good in the world,’” Derek Marquis, managing director of BYUtv and executive producer of Random Acts, said in a statement. “We are constantly bombarded with tragedies, violent crimes and catastrophes that most often show humankind at its worst. Through 'Random Acts,' we seek out and incite kindness and are investing in counterintuitive encounters of giving that inspire.”

Joining the hosts of “Random Acts” is “a team of do-gooders who create scenarios in which unsuspecting people’s characters are tested and their varied reactions are captured on camera,” according to BYUtv.

Cosmic Pictures, an award-winning production house based in Salt Lake, produced the series.
