PAROWAN — After spending Wednesday searching approximately 75 square miles for missing camper Daniel Brown, the Iron County Sheriff's Office said there was no sign of him Wednesday night.

The search for Brown, missing since Monday when he left his vehicle to get help, reconvened at 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to sheriff's Lt. Del Schlosser.

The search team was hopeful that "clear weather and sunny skies" would aid them in their search, Schlosser said.

Schlosser said weather conditions prevented the team of aircrafts, search dogs, horses and searchers on the ground representing multiple agencies from finding any traces of Brown.

The search continued until nightfall and was expected to reconvene Thursday morning.

Schlosser said the team's efforts could be scaled back because the search may become a recovery effort.

There is no evidence of foul play, he said.

Brown, 34, went missing after leaving his wife and four children around 4 p.m. Monday to get help after poor road conditions resulted in the family's van becoming stuck on a mountain road, according to police.

The initial search began at 11 a.m. Tuesday after Brown's wife called authorities when he had not returned, according to Schlosser.

Police said a GPS signal from the woman's phone led them to the family.

Brown's wife and four kids were rescued Tuesday morning, and the search for Brown continued until nightfall, though it was hampered by snow, rain, fog and wind.

Schlosser said Brown was last seen in a blue T-shirt, blue jeans and athletic shoes.

Anyone who may have seen Brown is asked to contact law enforcement.
