SUGAR COMAVILLE — In the wake of a big Sunday holiday, many of us faced work or school this morning with a sugar hangover the size of Texas. And with good reason.

Easter candy is objectively better than any other sugar-centric time of year and it’s not even close. The omnipresence of Cadbury mini eggs alone makes it head and shoulders (and bunny ears) above the comparative likes of Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. In fact, according to Fortune, Easter candy sales in the U.S. are expected to reach $2.4 billion compared to the estimated $2.1 billion spent on trick-or-treating fare.

If you’re anything like me, by the time Easter actually arrives, you’ve already eaten your weight in Starburst jellybeans, vanilla crème Hershey’s kisses and enjoyed a Cadbury Crème egg or two. Or three. Or how ever many it takes before you actively hate yourself.

YouTuber Food Surgeon made a video that demonstrates the kind of Dr. Frankenstein-like madness that is just crazy enough to be brilliant by performing a Peep laparotomy with Cadbury Crème implant. While the end product may be a little less than desirable (because Peeps are disgusting, no matter how you slice them), the video itself is actually pretty satisfying. The scalpel cutting into a fresh, yellow marshmallowy Peep is totally gratifying.
