PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State Historical Society Press plans to publish a new book on Laura Ingalls Wilder after the author's autobiography turned out to be a blockbuster for the small state-owned publishing house.

The Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/1RujSpw ) reports that it will be a scholarly work about the author, but details won't be released for at least six weeks.

Wilder penned the popular children's series of "Little House" books, but her autobiography gives a grittier view of frontier living.

The historical society press recently ordered another run of the autobiography, which will put the number of copies in print at 165,000.

Nancy Tystad Koupal is director of the South Dakota Historical Society Press. She says the publishing house is focused on "discovering the backstory" and the history of South Dakota.
