Weber's Grant Ellison scored 42 points against Mountain Crest, then added the game-clinching drive in the final seconds at Fremont to lift the Warriors to the Region 1 boy's basketball title.

Duke commit Frank Jackson celebrated senior night at Lone Peak by leading the Knights to a win over Pleasant Grove and the top spot from Region 4 heading into the 5A tournament.

Corner Canyon handed Timpview its first loss in Region 7 play with a 62-59 win at home. And both Layton and Copper Hills' girls basketball teams finished the regular season unbeaten — the only two hoops squads in the state to do so — this past week.
