SALT LAKE CITY — Throughout our school years, we are taught many things about America including its history, laws and government. Over time, many forget the lessons learned, later adding inaccurate information.

Of course, it's natural to forget some facts, but adding inaccurate information to one's knowledge of America is, unfortunately, rising among today's young adults.

In a recent poll, 10 percent of college graduates said they believe TV's Judge Judy is a member of the Supreme Court.

Can you name four Supreme Court judges? How many branches are there in the U.S. government and can you name them?

These are just some of the types of questions in the United States Customs and Immigration Services' civics test, required as part of the citizenship naturalization process. In 2015, Gov. Gary Herbert signed a bill into law requiring all Utah students to pass a civics test before receiving a high school diploma.
