LONDON (AP) — Adele, who has sold millions of copies of her third album, looks set to build on her success story at Britain's biggest music awards.
As the favorite to win the Global Success Award and with nods in four other categories she leads the nominations at the Brits.
Other female singers competing for British female solo artist are Florence Welch, Jess Glynne, Laura Marling and Amy Winehouse, who has been nominated posthumously for the soundtrack to the documentary "Amy."
U.S. band The Eagles Of Death Metal, whose concert was targeted in the Paris attacks, is up against U2 in the international group category.
Singer-songwriter James Bay and electronica trio Years & Years also picked up four nominations each.
The winners will be announced at a Feb. 24 ceremony in London.
