PROVO, Utah (AP) — Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is looking to add chairlifts and a zip line to its property in American Fork Canyon.

The Daily Herald reports that Snowbird President Bob Bonar announced Tuesday that the company has plans to develop Mary Ellen Gulch.

The company is looking for approval from the Utah County Board of Adjustment to install ski towers and other ski facilities including a zip line. There will be a hearing Thursday.

Bonar says if the project is approved, this would be the first improvements in Mineral Basin and Mary Ellen Gulch since 1999.
