MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The first of the national semifinal games in college football is being played this afternoon with No. 1 Clemson facing fourth-ranked Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. These two teams met in the Russell Athletic Bowl last year with Clemson coming out on top 40-6.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The second national semifinal game is tonight in Arlington, Texas. The Cotton Bowl has second-ranked Alabama going up against No. 3 Michigan State. Both teams enter the game with a record of 12-1.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The season is over for TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin. He has been suspended by the team after being charged with felony assault of a police officer in a bar in San Antonio. TCU is facing Oregon on Saturday in the Alamo Bowl.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Sixth-ranked Xavier has been handed its first loss of the season, losing to No. 16 Villanova 95-64. The Wildcats raced to a 20-point lead in the first half behind some good 3-point shooting. 'Nova is now 11-2 on the season while the Musketeers are 12-1.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel (man-ZEHL') won't be able to play in Sunday's final game of the year against Pittsburgh. The second-year signal caller took several hard hits in last Sunday's loss to the Chiefs and is suffering from a concussion.
