LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Jalen Moore scored 18 points, Julion Pearre added 17, and Utah State beat North Dakota State 76-62 Wednesday night to win the Global Sports Hoops Showcase championship.
Chris Smith scored 15 points, Lew Evans had 10 with 4 of 4 free throws, and the Aggies (8-3) made 18 of 24 free throws to end the Bison's four-game winning streak.
After 12 lead changes and two ties, Moore and Smith each hit 3s amid a 10-3 run and Utah State led 32-26 with 4:25 left in the first half. The Aggies pulled to a 43-34 halftime lead after a 9-2 run, outscoring the Bison 20-12 in the paint.
Utah State led by 14 after Pearre's 3-pointer early in the second half and the Bison got no closer than nine the rest of the way.
A.J. Jacobson scored 18 points, Paul Miller had 16, Khy Kabellis 11 and Carlin Dupree 10 for the Bison (9-4).
