Temple cruises against Delaware State, 78-63

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Quenton DeCosey scored 20 points, including 12 of 15 at the free throw line, and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Temple to a 78-63 win over Delaware State on Saturday.

Josh Brown finished with 14 points and a team best four assists for the Owls (5-5). Mark Williams and Trey Lowe each added nine points.

The Owls won got to the free throw line 38 times in the game, hitting 30, and won the rebounding battle 42-29.

Leading 39-37 early in the second half Brown hit a jumper and Williams made a layup to spark a 16-4 Temple scoring stretch which gave the Owls a 55-41 lead with 10:08 left.

Todd Hughes made a layup to trim the deficit back to 58-50 for Delaware State (0-11), but Temple scored 11 of the next 15 points to put the game out of reach.

DeAndre Haywood led the Hornets with 21 points.
