NEW YORK (AP) — "Fun Home," the 2015 best musical Tony Award winner set in a funeral home, is now, appropriately, in the black.

Producers said Sunday the show has recouped its $5.25 million investment in eight months.

The musical is based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel memoir about growing up with a closeted dad in the family's funeral home business.

"Fun Home," with a book and lyrics by Lisa Kron and music by Jeanine Tesori, switches between three different actresses playing the narrator as she shifts through her memory for clues about her father, played by Tony-winner Michael Cerveris. The cast also includes Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone and Emily Skeggs.

The 100-minute show directed by Sam Gold originated off-Broadway last year.
