SALT LAKE CITY — Caleb Warren found his 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V right here on KSL.com. When he bought it in 2011, the suspension was a mess. He didn't mind; it helped him get the price down.

He replaced the struts and put it back together correctly himself. He started the serious modifications about 18 months later. Caleb says local performance parts company Raceland gave him some prototype coilovers to test out (an advantage to driving a less-common tuner). Since then, he's gone to Ksports.

Even though it's a Spec V, it's still a Sentra, and Caleb has had to fight for respect. He says he sent the head to get ported and polished at a shop, but has done all the other modifications himself. He has changed balance shafts, pistons, and the supercharger, calling it "hand-created."

He's also worked the interior, exterior with his own mix of ground effects (see if you can figure out where they came from—Nismo, and a Honda Accord are involved), and sound system.

And about that respect? He may have picked up some cred from the Subaru STi, Mitsubishi Evolution, and Cobalt SS he's beaten. He's not done yet—his goal is to have the world's first supercharged Sentra making 500 wheel horsepower. Caleb says the Sentra community is growing; if he can get 500 horses out of his Sentra, the community and the respect should increase along with it.
