NEW YORK (AP) — Two baby red pandas have made their debut at the Prospect Park Zoo in New York.
The male and female pandas were born at the Brooklyn zoo on July 1. They made their public appearance this weekend.
They do not yet have names.
Red pandas, which look similar to raccoons, have a reddish-brown coat and a long furry tail.
Unlike giant pandas, red pandas are not members of the bear family. Officials say their population is declining and they are considered vulnerable in the wild.
Red pandas are also found in New York City at the Bronx Zoo and Central Park Zoo.
