OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A man is in jail after he allegedly punched an Ogden police officer several times and wrestled a Taser device away from another.
The Standard-Examiner in Ogden reports that 29-year-old Matthew Ryan Hall remained held Sunday on $29,000 bail. He faces several charges including aggravated assault on an officer.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a resident called police Thursday afternoon to report a man who appeared to be on drugs and threatening violence.
Hall refused to give his name to responding officers.
He then fled on foot when they tried to arrest him.
Officers caught up to him and Hall allegedly punched one officer in the head.
Two more officers arrived and Hall was eventually detained.
It was unknown Sunday if he had an attorney.
