HOLLADAY — Police confirm that a man whose body was found behind the Cotton Bottom Inn Tuesday morning died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Unified police received an open 911 call early Tuesday morning — meaning the phone line was open but no one spoke to dispatchers — according to Lt. Lex Bell of the Unified Police Department. Officers tracked the phone by honking their cars' horns so dispatchers knew when they were getting closer.

They found a man's deceased body behind the Cotton Bottom Inn at 2820 E. 6200 South.

No identity of the deceased was immediately provided.

Updates will be posted as they become available.
