SALINA, Sevier County — One woman was taken to the hospital and an 87-year-old man had to be extricated from his vehicle and flown to receive medical attention after an accident at a four-way stop in Salina Sunday afternoon, police said.
At approximately 12:49 p.m., a Cadillac Escalade was traveling south on State Street, approached a four-way stop and rear-ended a Chevy pickup truck traveling the same direction. The truck then collided with an unoccupied construction vehicle.
Officials said the Cadillac was traveling between 75 and 80 miles per hour at the time.
The SUV continued through the intersection, hit a curb, and rolled into the storefront of Mom's Cafe, causing significant damage.
The adult female who occupied the truck was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. The fire department had to extricate an adult male from the Cadillac SUV and he was then airlifted by Air-Med to get medical attention.
The woman's injuries are said to be minor. The condition of the male driver is unknown.
Traffic was temporarily rerouted in the area. Since State Street is a state highway, the Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
EMS, Salina Police Department and the local fire department all responded to the scene.

Correction: An earlier report from officials said the vehicle was traveling north. That has been corrected.
