SIGURD, Utah (AP) -- A California couple died after their sport utility vehicle flipped on Interstate 70 in Utah.
The couple's three children, who were also in the SUV, were injured but survived the crash.
The crash Thursday morning killed Tod McFarland, 40, and Stephanie McFarland, 38, of Carlsbad, Calif.
The Utah Highway Patrol says Stephanie McFarland was driving east on Interstate 70 near Sigurd when she fell asleep or lost control of their 2000 Ford Explorer for another reason and the vehicle crashed.
The couple's eldest child, a 7-year-old boy, was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition. The other two, a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, were not seriously injured.
