LAS VEGAS (AP) — Celine Dion makes her Las Vegas return after having spent more than a year caring for her ailing husband Rene Angelil.
The Canadian singer has said it was Angelil who urged her to return to her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Thursday. She has said she plans to dedicate the show to him and had wanted him there for her return.
Angelil has been recovering after having a cancerous tumor removed.
The Grammy winner for songs including "Titanic" theme "My heart will go on" has been caring for him and spending time with their three children since performing her last show on July 29, 2014.
Dion is scheduled to perform 40 shows through Jan. 17.
