ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming — A man wanted for absconding a bond in Wyoming was recently arrested in Kearns.
Carlos Ivan Reyes, 23, was originally arrested in Rock Springs, Wyoming, in January 2014, according to the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office. At the time, Reyes was wanted out of Davis County for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon and riot.
Reyes was released from the Sweetwater County Detention Center after posting bond on the warrant, according to the sheriff's office. However, at the end of January 2015 he was transported by a medical helicopter to the University of Utah's Health Care Burn Center following a fire in Rock Springs. Reyes reportedly started the fire on accident while fighting with his girlfriend.
"After (being) treated and released from the hospital, Reyes absconded on his bond and never returned to court on his original charges as scheduled," a statement from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office reads.
As a result, Reyes was placed on Sweetwater County's most wanted list. Investigators said they were able to track him to a home in Kearns, where he was arrested Friday by agents from the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force.
