SNYDERVILLE BASIN, Summit County — A man was killed in an industrial accident Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident, on the southwest side of Park City's Snyderville Basin, at about 11 a.m., according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said Heber resident Jesus Garcia Hermosillo, 39, was fatally injured while using a motorized cutting device.
At the time of the accident, Hermonsillo was working on a roadway for a new development in an area near White Pine Canyon, according to investigators. They said TCFC is the contractor in charge of the project.
"This project is in the beginning phases and a large trench was being dug for piping," a statement from the sheriff's office reads. "While cutting the pipe the male individual was mortally injured while operating the cutting device."
The Utah Occupational Safety and Health Division was notified of the accident.
