ADDISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities in southeastern Michigan say a man was killed when a piece of lifting equipment flipped as he was working on a chimney.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says the accident happened Wednesday afternoon in Addison Township, about 35 miles north of Detroit.
The department says the 40-year-old Washington Township man was working from a scissor lift and was trying to move the equipment on sloped ground when it overturned.
The department says the man fell about three stories to the ground. His name wasn't immediately released.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
