LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a woman who was wounded will face several criminal charges after her alleged accomplice was killed by a resident wielding an AK-47 during a botched home invasion robbery. Police say Tarnisha Harris remains hospitalized with a serious leg injury after the shooting. The Clark County coroner hasn't identified the would-be robber who died.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — North Las Vegas has been ordered by the Environmental Protection Agency to address water pollution violations. The says the Las Vegas suburb was found in violation of the Clean Water Act during a September 2014 inspection of its wastewater pretreatment program. Authorities are now concerned that polluted water could leak into the Las Vegas Wash, which feeds into Lake Mead. North Las Vegas must approve a plan to fix the issue by March 1, 2016 and submit them to the EPA by April 15, 2016.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Pedestrian bridges linking four Las Vegas casino-resorts on the Las Vegas Strip at Tropicana Avenue are getting a $26 million upgrade in 2016. The Nevada Department of Transportation says the renovated bridges linking the Excalibur, New York-New York, the Tropicana and MGM Grand casino-hotels are expected to be finished by mid-2017.
BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) — A National Park Service official says divers are recovering the body of a 17-year-old from North Las Vegas who disappeared while swimming with cliff-jumping friends at a cove at the Lake Mohave reservoir. A Park Service spokeswoman says it appears the teen is the third person to die this year while cliff-jumping at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
