(KSL News) Eight homes were evacuated after a natural gas leak in Kearns today.
Around noon, a crew doing underground utility work accidentally drilled through a 3-inch gas line. They reported the leak, and HAZMAT crews responded.
The homes that had a minor concentration of natural gas were evacuated as a precaution. Several other people were asked to stay in their homes.
The gas was eventually shut off and everyone was allowed back in their homes.
