OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A picture of a cop feeding a baby after her mom had gone into a seizure has captured the hearts of people around the world.

Andy Black, a police officer in Overland Park, Kansas, was at a local mall working off duty when he got the call that a woman was having a seizure, according to Fox 4 News in Kansas City.

Upon arriving at the scene, Black noticed the woman, slightly disoriented, trying to get her baby out of the car seat to feed her. Afraid that the woman would drop the baby, Black, a grandpa of 14 who has plenty of experience around infants, offered to take her. And when the baby started crying right away, he knew what to do without hesitation.

“I took the bottle, and I fed the baby," Black told Fox 4 News.

Photographer Jilli Nel was nearby and captured the moment on camera. She uploaded the photo to Facebook, asking others to share the picture.

“This is what we don’t get to see… the times of the quiet hero… going beyond his duty,” Nel wrote.

The picture has been shared hundreds of times on Facebook and on many national websites.

Black later told Buzzfeed: “I can’t believe it. To me, it’s such a small thing, but I’m glad it worked out the way it has, because law enforcement can use some positive reinforcement.”
